In 2024, Brazil has assumed the presidency of the G20 and will host in-person and virtual working meetings and task forces at technical and ministerial levels. The G20 Summit, scheduled for November 18th and 19th in Rio de Janeiro, marks the conclusion of the work carried out by the country holding the group’s rotating presidency. During this summit, heads of state and government will endorse agreements negotiated throughout the year and devise strategies to tackle global challenges.

Civil society also takes part in the G20. Twelve engagement groups involving societies from member countries will participate in a Social Summit scheduled for November 15th to 17th in Rio de Janeiro, preceding the Leaders’ Summit of the G20.
